Gmail si politica Anti SPAM / Phishing

De ceva timp observ o serie de schimbari majore in contul de email oferit de Google * Gmail. Pe langa update-urile Anti SPAM (Priority Inbox), box-uri de navigare (Preview Pane), Multiple calls si multe altele, in urma cu 5 min. am primit urmatorul mesaj * This message may not have been sent by: email@gmail.com. Learn more. Report phishing > asta s-a intamplat imediat cum am trimis un newsletter prin optiunea * recomanda unui prieten (send to a friend).

Daca ne uitam un pic mai departe de simplu modul de recomandare, vom gasi un newsletter care a fost trimis de * email@gmail.com, dar de pe serverul aplicatiei de email marketing, si nu serverul google.

Cu alte cuvinte, o formula simpla, dar monitorizata pana la cel mai mic detaliu ;)

Phishing messages are a form of spam that attempt to deceive recipients in order to gain access to their personal information. Starting today, Gmail will automatically display more information about the origin of certain messages you receive so you can be better informed and protect yourself from getting tricked. If someone fakes a message from a sender that you trust, like your bank, you can more easily see that the message is not really from where it says it’s from…

Odata intrat in programul celor de la RetunPath, optiunea “Domain Assurance” nu face decat sa protejeze companiile prin blocarea emailurilor frauduloase – spam / phishing, inainte ca acestea sa ajunga in inboxul consumatorilor. Smart, nu?

“Once the sender has ensured that all their email is being authenticated, they can add their domains and sub-domains to the Domain Assurance Registry list for ISPs to automatically reject all mail coming from these registered domains that fail authentication. Email senders using Domain Assurance have access to rich data reports about their email, get alerted when fraudulent emails using their domains are observed, and are provided with email intelligence on attackers and phishing URLs so they can initiate the take down of fraudulent websites.” – Return Path

Priority Inbox: Learn what’s important

Nu cred ca are rost sa vorbesc prea mult despre sistemul de filtrare de la Gmail, si anume > Priority Inbox. In schimb, inainte de a cerceta algoritmul din spate, este necesar sa intelegeti rolul reputatiei si a tehnicilor de comunicare prin email. Sunt multe, obositoare si iti mananca cel putin 60% din timp :)

Totul s-a schimbat. Exact cum Quality Score-ul (AdWords) este generat de cel putin 10/15 criterii, asa si filtrele de Anti SPAM calculeaza si analizeaza cel mai mic detaliu, de la minut la minut.

Amazon SES (Simple Email Service)

Amazon SES este un simplu serviciu de e-mail care proceseaza mesaje tranzactionale printr-un API. In acest fel se elimina complexitatea si costurile dezvoltarii unei solutii in-house care sa opereze acest tip de mesaje.

Momentan produsul este lansat in versiunea beta. Nu il recomand, dar sunt curios cum functioneaza.
